Dating Tests: Compare Goals, Habits and Expectations

Dating Tests: Compare Goals, Habits and Expectations

You matched, you talked, maybe you met. Now comes the question every online dater asks sooner or later: do we want the same things? These free tests help you compare goals, habits and expectations, so you can talk about them early instead of finding out months later. They are conversation starters, not verdicts. Each one takes a few minutes, shows your result right away and needs no sign-up. Not dating yet? We also have tests that help you decide what you are looking for and which dating site fits you best.

What these tests are, and what they are not

These tests compare practical factors: what you want from dating, how you like to communicate, how you handle disagreements and what you each expect from the future. They show where your answers are close and where they differ.

They are not psychology. They do not measure your personality, diagnose anything or predict whether a relationship will last. They are not scientifically validated, and a short online quiz cannot be. A major review in Psychological Science in the Public Interest found little evidence that matching algorithms can predict whether two people will be a good match. That is why our tests never announce that you “are a match” or “are not a match”.

Please do not end a relationship, or start one, because of a result. A difference in answers is a topic to talk about, and a similarity is no guarantee. What you learn by spending time together matters far more than any quiz.

If you are already talking to someone

How these tests work

Each test asks questions about habits, preferences and goals. There are no right or wrong answers. For tests about two people, we show how close your answers are on each topic and which topics are worth a conversation. We do not give one score that says whether you are a match. The tests run in your browser. We do not store your answers.

What a result can and cannot tell you

A result is a conversation starter, not a verdict. Two people with different styles can do very well when they talk about it openly, and two people who agree on everything can still struggle. Use your result to find topics worth discussing, and trust what you learn from spending time together.

These tests are for self-reflection and conversation. They are not a psychological assessment, medical advice or relationship counselling. If you feel unsafe in a relationship or need support, please contact a local counselling or support service.

Frequently asked questions

Are the tests free? Yes. All tests are free and need no registration.

Do you save my answers? No. Answers are processed in your browser and are not sent to us.

Can we take a test together? Yes. The compatibility test has a Duo mode where you each answer the same questions in turn, and a Solo mode where one person answers for both.

Are these psychological tests? No. They compare practical factors such as goals, habits and expectations. They do not measure personality or predict how a relationship will go.

How accurate are the results? They show how close your answers are, nothing more. They are not scientifically validated, so use them to start a conversation, not as a prediction.

What if our answers differ a lot? That does not mean it cannot work, and it is not a reason to end anything. Pick the topics with the biggest differences and talk about them. Some differences are easy to live with and some are not, and only the two of you can tell which.
