Couple Compatibility Test

Dating someone new, or already together for a while? This free couple compatibility test helps you compare how you each see communication, conflict, daily life, closeness, dating expectations and the future.

The couple compatibility test takes about ten minutes, needs no sign-up and shows you where your answers are close and which topics are worth a conversation. There is no score and no verdict. You can take it alone, answering for both of you, or together, one after the other.

How the couple compatibility test works

This compatibility test for couples has 30 questions in six topics, five questions per topic. Each question has four answers that go from one style to another, for example from “say it right away” to “keep it to myself”. No answer is right or wrong.

Solo mode: one person answers each question twice, first for themselves and then for their partner. Duo mode: each of you answers all the questions in turn on the same device, without seeing the other person’s answers.

At the end you see, for each topic, whether your answers were mostly the same, close or far apart, plus a list of the answers that differ the most.

What the six topics cover

  • Communication: how often you talk, how you share feelings, what you do when something bothers you.
  • Conflict: how you argue, make up and forgive.
  • Daily life and money: weekends, spending and saving, tidiness, daily rhythm.
  • Closeness and space: time together and apart, affection, alone time.
  • Dating and expectations: pace, exclusivity, meeting friends and family, social media, dating apps.
  • The future: moving in, marriage, children, where to live, career.

How to read your couple compatibility test result

Each topic gets one of three labels. Mostly aligned means your answers are the same or very close. Some differences means you see a few things differently. Worth a conversation means at least one answer is far apart, so it helps to talk about it.

These labels are not a score, and they do not tell you whether you are a good match. They only show you where to look. Two people with very different answers can do well when they talk openly, and two people who agree on everything can still struggle.

How to talk about your result

  1. Start with the topics where you are aligned, so the conversation begins on common ground.
  2. Pick one or two answers that differ the most. Ask what is behind each answer instead of arguing about who is right.
  3. Separate what is flexible from what is fixed. Habits are often flexible. Questions like children or where to live often are not.
  4. Give yourselves time. A conversation does not have to end with a decision.

Please do not end a relationship, or start one, because of a result.

Frequently asked questions

Is the couple compatibility test free?
Yes. It is free and needs no registration.

Do you save my answers?
No. Your answers stay in your browser and are not sent to us.

Is this a psychological test?
No. It compares practical factors such as goals, habits and expectations. It does not measure personality or predict how a relationship will go.

Can we take it if we have only been on a few dates?
Yes. Topics like pace, exclusivity and meeting friends are meant for early dating too.

What if our answers differ a lot?
That does not mean it cannot work, and it is not a reason to end anything. Pick the topics with the biggest differences and talk about them. Some differences are easy to live with and some are not, and only the two of you can tell which.

How long does it take?
About ten minutes.

Take the couple compatibility test again whenever your situation changes. Your answers may look different after a few months.
